You’ve heard us preach it again and again, “GET YOUR HVAC UNIT CHECKED REGULARLY!” and we’ve given you reasons here and there but you may still be ignoring us. So, let’s look at all the different reasons you should get your HVAC unit checked regularly as preventative maintenance.
1. Lower energy bills – if your unit is having to work harder to keep a room heated or cooled, your energy bills will rise. However, the only way to know if your unit is working harder (before the increase in bills) is to have a professional come out and take a look at it.
2. Fewer repairs – damages not caught in time can result in more damages and more costly repairs. Having a professional check in and catch a repair early on could save you lots of stress in the future. You wouldn’t want your heater breaking down on you right in the middle of winter, would you?
3. Longer equipment life – routine check-ups can help drastically in making your unit last longer and help you get more out of it.
4. Safer equipment – a broken HVAC unit can cause risk to damage your home and family in the form of carbon monoxide.
Getting your HVAC unit serviced could look like a number of different things. Maybe you get your heater checked before winter and your AC checked before summer or you may want to get them checked after the season. However, we do recommend 2 service checks a year verses 1.
